Maryville Academy seeks a Paraprofessional/Job Coach to support students at Walsh Academy. Responsibilities include assisting with academic and vocational skill development, supporting special education teachers, and aiding students in achieving state standards and IEP goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom instruction and provide one-on-one tutoring as needed.
- Support students in completing assignments during class.
- Administer tests orally or in writing in various settings.
- Document assignment completion within IEP software.
- Develop strategies to help students achieve IEP/Transition plan goals.
- Participate in staff development and training sessions.
- Assist with crisis management, including physical restraints when necessary.
Qualifications
- State Approved Paraprofessional License required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license; willingness to obtain a School Bus Driver’s Permit preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes.
