Life Coach I

The Arc Allegany-Steuben is dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting their personal development and integration into the community.

Position Overview
We are seeking attentive and compassionate team members to join our residential team as Life Coach I. In this role, you will maintain an environment that encourages optimal personal development, provide person-directed services, and ensure the health and safety of the individuals served. This per-diem/relief position requires at least 36 hours of work each month, with an hourly rate of $16.66.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations, agency policies, and procedures, including accurate and legible documentation.
• Incident Management: Follow the agency’s incident management process and maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Financial Management: Assist in managing individuals' funds accurately and complete personal allowance documentation as per procedures.
• Person-Centered Services: Implement services as outlined in Individual Service Plans (ISP), act as an advocate for individuals, and provide person-directed support.
• Health and Safety: Ensure a safe environment for individuals, administer medications as prescribed, and assist with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Previous experience in a supportive care role is advantageous but not required.
• Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures accurately.
  • Commitment to promoting personal development and well-being of individuals.
• Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overnight shifts as needed.
