Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Career Coach to support newly hired custody professionals in navigating their career paths within the corrections system. In this role, you will provide personalized guidance, support, and resources to help employees achieve their professional goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Orientation Support: Assist staff in understanding the corrections system and departmental procedures.
• Career Planning: Guide individuals in developing personalized career plans and professional development strategies.
• Resume and Interview Preparation: Provide assistance with resume building and interview skills to enhance promotional opportunities.
• Networking Facilitation: Support employees in building professional networks within the corrections system.
• Conflict Resolution and Stress Management: Offer strategies for managing workplace conflicts and stress.
• Promotion Strategies: Advise on effective approaches for career advancement within the department.
• Work-Life Balance: Encourage practices that promote a healthy balance between work responsibilities and personal life.
• Continuous Learning: Keep staff informed about opportunities for ongoing education and skill development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience with the Missouri Department of Corrections or other correctional facilities at the city, county, state, or federal level is preferred.
• Ethical Conduct: Demonstrated strong sense of responsibility and adherence to ethical standards.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication abilities and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of staff.
