Re-Entry Life Coach

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is the region’s largest non-profit organization with a 120+ year legacy, focused on the needs of women, with programs serving 7,000 people each year. We are women and BIPOC-led, family-centered, and supportive of employees.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Re-Entry Life Coach for our Passage Point program, designed to address homelessness by supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration. This role involves providing intensive, strength-based case management services to parents with multiple barriers, assisting them in achieving personal and housing goals, and facilitating family reunification.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Assessment: Conduct screenings to determine residents’ needs, including housing, employment, education, domestic violence, mental health, substance abuse treatment, health, parenting, legal issues, and reunification.
• Support Services: Provide in-reach and outreach support, connecting residents with appropriate services and referrals to community agencies.
• Goal Planning: Assist residents in developing goal-oriented action plans, documenting progress, and facilitating access to necessary resources.
• Advocacy: Act as an advocate for residents, providing assistance in navigating systems and overcoming barriers to success.
• Program Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Homeless Initiative Department and other YWCA programs to ensure comprehensive support for residents.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Experience in case management, particularly with formerly incarcerated individuals or those facing significant barriers to housing and employment.
• Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of community resources and support services.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized action plans.
• Commitment: Dedication to social justice principles, with an understanding of the intersections of racism and poverty.
