Family Life Coach

The Bridge Family Center is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to families, focusing on reunification and strengthening family bonds through structured programs and compassionate care.

Position Overview
We are seeking both full-time and part-time Family Life Coaches for our Quality Parenting Center in Cromwell, CT. In this role, you will supervise and participate in family visitation sessions, offering guidance and support to parents working toward reunification with their children. You will also manage case documentation and collaborate with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision of Family Visits: Oversee family interactions during visits, ensuring a positive and safe environment.
• Behavioral Guidance: Provide coaching to parents on effective communication and engagement with their children, tailored to developmental levels.
• Program Coordination:
  • Facilitate initial meetings with families and DCF to discuss program expectations and develop visitation plans.
  • Conduct assessments to establish family goals and prepare for each visit.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all visits and communications.
  • Communicate progress and concerns to DCF and coordinate discharge meetings as needed.
• Transportation Support: Provide transportation for visit participants when necessary.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field.
• Experience: Experience in family services, case management, or related areas is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate records.
• Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as the center operates 7 days a week from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
