Life Skills Coach

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Life Skills Coach to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide case management and coaching to clients, assisting them in developing skills for independent living and community integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Support: Provide case management and coaching to clients, including locating and coordinating services, implementing interventions, and educating clients and their support networks.
• Skill Development: Assist clients in building employability and vocational abilities, modeling and teaching activities of daily living (ADL) skills, promoting wellness behaviors, and developing social skills.
• Advocacy and Transportation: Advocate for clients' rights and preferences, transport clients as needed, and support them in maximizing their quality of life.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of client activities and progress according to established methods and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other SMA staff, participate in treatment team meetings, lead groups, and engage in training sessions.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Experience with care of adults with severe and persistent mental illness and/or chemical dependency preferred. Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is advantageous.
• Skills:
  • Ability to establish supportive relationships with clients.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Competence in modeling behaviors and teaching life skills.
