Life Skills Coach
Wellnest Emotional Health & Wellness is dedicated to supporting transitional age youth (TAY) in achieving independence and improving their quality of life.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Life Skills Coach to join our multidisciplinary team, providing services to TAY clients. You will teach independent living skills, adaptive skills training, and supported living services, assisting clients with socialization, community orientation, self-care, meal preparation, money management, vocational exploration, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Support TAY clients and their families to promote stability and improve functioning.
- Facilitate community linkages and assist clients in accessing resources.
- Model and coach communication skills, problem-solving, and healthy advocacy.
- Provide employment support and vocational exploration.
- Develop and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Collaborate with case managers and therapists to support client goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Lived experience with DCFS, Probation, Regional Center, or Mental Health Services preferred.
- Experience with the TAY homeless population is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
